Policy

- Assignments: Any employee that is called out for a job, agrees to work until that assignment has been completed. If a Owner, Manager or Supervisor requests additional hours or another shift, the order should be called in to the office immediately for approval.


- Call-in: All Snelling employees are required to call in 575-762-4246 if they are going to be late, or not willing or able to go into work on any accepted assignment. The phone is answered 24 hours a day for this purpose.

- No Call, No Show: If any employee accepts an assignment, and does not show up to work. Does not call in to the office (anytime day or night) it is considered a no call no show. Call in's will only be accepted from the employee.

- Time cards: All Snelling employees are to have their time cards in our office no later than 2:00pm Monday. Checks will be ready after 10:00am on Fridays. If a time card is late, it will be processed the following week. Also: Time cards have to be complete with full names, employee ID (last four numbers of the employees Social security number), complete with dates, check in/out times, and it must be signed by the employee and the department supervisor or team leader. Work week: The work week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. Example: if you work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday on a temporary assignment. You will turn in two time cards 1. Thursday, Friday & Saturday 2. Sunday & Monday.

Temporary Employee GMP's
Prohibited Acts 
     - To prevent product contamination, the following actions are not allowed in GMP areas:
     - Eating or drinking. Drinking water is allowed only in authorized areas where water dispensers are located.
     - Chewing gum, candles, throat candies, throat lozenges and tobacco.
     - Placing pencils, pens, or cigarettes behind the ears.
     - Wearing false eyelashes or fingernails.
     - Carrying objects above the belt or waistline (i.e. pens, flashlights, thermometers, etc.)
     - Expectorating (splitting) in production areas.
     - Carrying pills or medication in clothing pockets are prohibited, unless medically necessary for saving life and approved by Quality Manager.

Jewelry
     - Rings, watches, earrings, necklaces, other jewelry (including ornaments in exposed body areas such as tongue and nose) must not be worn in GMP areas. No exceptions have been made for personnel with newly pierce ears ears or other new pierced body areas. "Medic-Alert" identification tags, as authorized by a physician, are allowed. For GMP (and safety) purpose, the plant will provide shoe I.D. tags upon request. 

Designated Eating Areas
Food and drink may be consumed only in designated eating areas. They are prohibited in GMP areas. Lunches must be stored in break room only. Lunch storage is NOT permitted in employee lockers. Littering and other poor housekeeping practices are not allowed. All refuse must be placed in appropriately identified containers.

Lockers
Personal lockers must be maintained free of trash and soiled clothing. Lockers shall be routinely inspected. Food, wet suites, boots, and direct product contact tools must not not be stored in employee lockers.

Smoking & Tobacco Use
Smoking or use of other tobacco products is prohibited within the facility. Each facility will have identified areas provided for smoking.

Approved Clothing
Only company-approved clothing will be worn by employees who work in GMP areas. All company provided uniforms and shoes may not be worn out of the plant. An approved garment (i.e. a lab coat, smock, or jacket) maybe used to supplement/cover non-approved plant clothing. Non-production employees who enter the plant must be a lab coat (or other approved covering) and wear appropriate footwear, consistent with plant policy. All clothing and headgear must be free of markings and labels. Socks must be worn. Shoes must be kept clean at the beginning of the shift and kept reasonably clean during operations. Pens, pencils, thermometers, glasses, tools, etc. may not be carried in shirts, coats above the belt or waist line. Pockets above the waist must be removed or sewn shut. Only zippers, grippers or snaps may be used as the fasteners on shirts, coats, laboratory jackets, or smock. In operations where clothing is rapidly soiled, and there is exposure to open product, disposable clothing (plastic aprons, arm guard, lab coats, etc.) must be worn over clothing and changed at a frequency to prevent product contamination. Disposable aprons or lab coats must not be carried or worn into non-GMP areas (i.e., into restrooms, the lunchroom, etc).

Helmets & Earplugs
Hardhats must be maintained in a sanitary condition. Stickers and labels designated by facility are acceptable, unless authorized by QA Manager, stickers are prohibited. Helmets used in micro-biologically sensitive areas must be cleaned and sanitized on a frequency determined by plant quality. Helmets must be stored in sanitary manner. Helmets must be cleaned and sanitized on a frequently determined by plant quality. Helmets must be stored in a sanitary manner. Helmets must not not be used for storing or carrying objects such as cigarettes, notepads, pencils, etc. Ear protection devices must be secured to prevent product contaminated. The earplugs ca be attached by string around neck, rigid attachment worn around neck, or earmuffs attached to headband.

Gloves
Where gloves are used for handling exposed product contact surfaces only approved disposable, impermeable gloves may be used. The use of latex gloves for product contact application shall not be permitted. These single use surgical gloves may transmit allergen sensitivity to the product. If gloves are prescribed, they should be donned after washing and sanitizing hands. Other types of approved gloves can be used to handle only package product. Gloves must be maintained intact, clean ans sanitary condition. If gloves must be maintained practices, "Treat gloves as if they were your hands".

Hand Washing Frequency
Personnel working in GMP areas must wash hands at the following times:
- Before entering a GMP area.
- Upon re-entering the GMP area.
- After each visit to the toilet facility, restroom, lunch and break room facilities.
- Prior to touching product or product contact surfaces.
- Any other times when hands may have become soiled or contaminated.
In addition, personnel in direct contact with the product must sanitize hands when working in a microbiologically sensitive area must sanitize their hands after washing. Hands must be washed and sanitized after touching non-product contact surfaces. If soil is observed, then hands must be washed prior to re-sanitizing.

Control of Hand Uses
When working in GMP areas, the use of hands for unsanitary practices must be avoided. Specifically, hands should not be used to adjust glasses, scratch head or body, touch face or wipe forehead, place fingers on or in mouth, nose, ears and/or handle product samples for taste testing in an unsanitary manner. Hand lotions must not be used if hands are in direct contact with product or product contact surfaces. However, approved gloves may be worn over hands having non-perfumed lotion, if it is compatible with work conditions and regulatory rules.

Fingernails
In GMP areas, fingernails must:
- Be kept clean and properly trimmed. Nails must not extend past fingertips.
  - No decals
  - No nail polish
  - No nail jewelry
  - No false fingernails or nail extenders.

Hair condition and Accessories
In GMP areas, hair must be kept clean, free of hair curlers, hair combs, and bobby pins, and if scarves or bandannas they must be worn neatly under a hair net. Plant-supplied hair restraints must be worn in GMP areas. Hairnets/restraints must completely contain the hair and cover the ears. Safety or bump helmets are worn over appropriate hair restraints. Ball caps are not permitted. If head is clean shaved, a hair net is still required.

Facial Hair
In GMP areas, facial hair must be maintained as follows:
 - Sideburns must be trimmed and be no longer than the bottom of the ear.
 - Beard guards must be worn for any facial hair growth below the lip as mustaches are acceptable.

Temporary employees must maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness
